The Sun Has Got His Hat On

Chase the Sun logoThe sun is in training for our major fundraiser – Chase the Sun. Have you noticed how early he’s getting up and how late he goes to bed this month. By the time we get to Chase the Sun on Midsummer’s Day, June 24th, he’ll rise in Bridlington at 4.28am.

We have two teams of runners in training. They are lined up to run in the 130 mile relay from Bridlington to the west coast before sunset at 9.48pm. Some are running 20km at a stretch other are donating more moderate distances to raise funds to house homeless people in York.

Restore Chairman, Barrie Stephenson, in training to run Chase the Sun

The route (click to see it) goes through Malton, Easingwold, Boroughbridge, Pateley Bridge, Grassington, Settle, Bentham, the Lune Valley, finally arriving at Hest Bank beach (near Morecambe) before sunset. On the day you can follow the progress of the runners on this site

The runners will be escorted by four cyclists, to help them find the route and to keep them safe. You can sponsor the cyclists too. One of them, Ed, is aiming to cycle the whole route – no mean feat.

So please be generous and help us to our target of £20,000. Sponsor – click here
