We’re delighted that Restore is now employing Ed Hambleton as our first member of staff. He started work in the part time post of Housing Support and Development Officer at the beginning of October. As we add more houses so his hours will increase. This is what Ed says about himself:
I moved to York in 2002 to study psychology at the University of York. Since graduating I have spent six years working in a variety of roles in the prison service. I attend York Community Church with my wife, Laura, who is expecting our first child in a few weeks.
My main roles for Restore will be supporting the tenants, co-ordinating volunteers and seeking to raise the profile of Restore across York.
I am excited by taking up this new role with Restore as I feel that it demonstrates Jesus’ heart for the lost in a very practical way. No one is beyond God’s grace, and I’m looking forward to taking the message of faith, hope and love to people who need it most. The rest is up to God, and I’m sure that he has wonderful plans for our future.
